About ND
Hi, I’m Andy, and I’m glad you’re here. Let’s get started.
So, what the heck do you do?
This is often a difficult question for me to answer. Many people know me as many things. As a friend, sometimes I’m the guy you go to for answers. Sometimes I’m the rock you cry on. Mostly though, I try not to waste time on people that don’t deserve it.
I am captivated by many things, and in the short time I’ve lived, I’ve experimented with a lot of things.
As of now, I consider myself to be an actor, designer, and rapper/producer.
What’s with ‘ND’?
The story behind the name ND is one I’m not at liberty to disclose publicly, but if I trust you enough after a while, I might just tell ya. As of now, only five six people truly know the origin of it.
Less mysterious, however, is why I use it. While looking for a ‘rap name’ that would reflect who I am without it being ridiculous, pompous, or time sensitive (you can only be ‘Lil’ or ‘Young’ for so long), I decided upon ND as a tribute to Marshall Mathers, who came up with his rap name ‘Eminem,’ through a play on his initials (M and M).
Originally, I was going by aNDy to avoid confusion, but after a while, it just became ND.
A typical conversation with people goes something like this:
Them: “So what’s with the ‘ND’ thing anyway?”
Me: “‘That’s my name. ‘Andy.’”
Them: “No, not ‘Andy,’ I’m talking about ‘ND’–
Me: “…”
Them: “‘ND’… ‘Andy’…….”
Me: “….”
Them: “…ohhhhhhh.”
Me: ^_^
What about ‘Give Me Andy’?
I often brainstorm ideas by talking to myself while I shower.
At the time, about a year or two ago, I wanted to come up with something that was catchy and memorable, that I could use for marketing purposes, to promote my music, services, etc.
One of my mentors, Brad, goes by ‘Bradtastic,’ which in itself says so much in so little. I wanted something cool like that.
So I said to myself:
“I want a handle… a title… a catchphrase of some sort… so that when people hear it, they’ll remember it… something that’ll make em say ‘GIVE ME ANDY!‘”
And the rest, as they say, is history.
